Festive Vegan Magic Lands at The Veg Box Café London with Chef Danielle Maupertuis

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and The Veg Box Café in London is getting ready to sprinkle a little vegan and gluten free festive sparkle as they welcome Belgium born Chef Danielle Maupertuis.

Chef Danielle is one of the UK’s leading Executive Vegan Pastry Chefs and is hosting a very special Vegan & Gluten-Free Festive Afternoon Tea at The Veg Box Café.

Danielle will be creating one of her famous fine dining afternoon teas…. They are full of flavour, flair and this time a festive twist – including her:

Sweet potato and cranberry scones with cream and homemade jam,

Santa’s hat with raspberry cream and coconut,

a heavenly chocolate yule log

and a cheeky snowman vanilla cheesecake with meringue.

There are plenty of savoury delights too with:

homemade seeded bread with plant-based cheese,

Egyptian falafel wrap with sweet pepper houmous,

and a roasted zucchini tartlet with red onion chutney and feta.

Unlimited tea and coffee will be served throughout.

And as always Danielle will be sharing the magic behind one of her festive desserts, to help you re create your own recipes at home. Danielle is passionate about bringing back the art of baking.

Each guest will receive a Belgian speculoos, celebrating St Niklaas. It will be wrapped in a cellophane bag with a leaflet telling the story of St Niklaas.

There may even be some very special guests joining the celebration, making this event even more special!

The collaboration brings together two vegan trailblazers – The Veg Box Café, a much-loved plant-based restaurant group with three locations (two in London and one in Canterbury) now celebrating its 10th anniversary – and Chef Danielle Maupertuis, whose vegan afternoon teas have become the talk of the town, regularly attracting celebrities, media and influencers.

Danielle has more than 40 years of professional experience as a pastry chef, is a guest chef at Le Cordon Bleu and a trainer for The Vegetarian Society.

She has delighted audiences at The Ideal Home Show, The Foodies Festival, The Free From and Allergy Show, and VegfestUK.

Her work has been featured across national and international media, including BBC Radio 2, BBC Three Counties, and coverage in the USA, where she was invited to present a fine-dining vegan tea in Florida.

I absolutely love creating desserts that surprise people – vegan and gluten-free baking can be every bit as indulgent and elegant as anything you find in a Paris patisserie!
I am thrilled to be teaming up with The Veg Box Café for this special festive celebration and can’t wait to share some chefs secrets with everyone too.
