We have fallen in love with Stratford Upon Avon and the Holiday Inn

Stratford Upon Avon is set in the gorgeous Warwickshire countryside on the banks of the river Avon and makes for the ideal long weekend getaway for couples and families.
Staying at The Holiday Inn was perfect with its very central location. We parked the car and then didn’t need it again until we left 3 days later. There is plenty to see and do in the main part of the town and all within walking distance from the hotel.
We loved the backstage tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the tower too. See the little backstage dressing rooms hidden away by curtains by the auditorium and even see some of the theatre team in action changing sets and sorting out costumes. It’s quite amazing as to what goes on behind the scenes.
Hotel wise we have to tell you how fantastic the Holiday Inn is.
A super location, professional friendly staff, and the most gorgeous outdoor bar area overlooking the river. If you are vegan like us and have special dietary requirements you can be rest assured that you will be looked after.
The chef even popped out to see us and have a chat and was a really helpful guy! He sorted out a delicious vegan friendly meal and he was up for a little challenge rather than being annoyed at our dietary requests! We were very impressed by the chef, the staff as well as the hotel.
There is a small swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which are ideal for a good morning start or for a relaxing early evening.  There is also a good size gym too.
The rooms are spotless – what you would expect at The Holiday Inn. The breakfast is an incredible huge buffet from the usual fruits, juices, cereals, hot and cold buffet and again for dietary requirements they will discuss and sort something out for you.
