How To Cook Beetroot

Beetroots are fantastically good for you and tasty too! They are proven to help with liver function and cardiovascular health. Karin Ridgers from Veggie Vision TV shows you how to boil them and serve them in this easy to follow guide.

You will need:

  • 2 beetroot
  • water

Wash the beetroots and cut the stalks so that there is around an inch left near the beetroot bulb. Place in a pan of boiling water for half an hour. Make sure there is enough water to cover the beetroots. Check the beetroot with a knife after 15 minutes and remove them from the water when a knife comes out easily.

Step 2: Slice and Serve

Run the beetroot under cold water and allow to cool before peeling off the skins. Slice and serve as you like. Beetroot is delicious served in a salad with olive oil, lemon juice, dairy free yoghurt and cumin.
