We are delighted that the nationwide restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has announced the launch of their fresh new vegan menu at all of its 103 restaurants across the UK, just in time to welcome back diners .  We tell you here about the best vegan options on the menu – AND we find out from the Frankie & Benny’s  HQ about their ways to avoid cross contamination with non vegan items….

There’s plenty to please vegans such as Plantballs Italiano, Vegan sourdough pizzas and the Vegan BBQ Wingz are a must have!

The brand-new menu features fresh, carefully selected produce and exciting new Italian-American dishes alongside Frankie & Benny’s much loved classics.

Jon Knight, Managing Director of Frankie & Benny’s says: “It’s great that we will be reopening our restaurants for indoor dining again, and all of the restaurant teams cannot wait to welcome everyone back. Guests, new and old, can not only expect new dishes on our revamped menu but also delicious updates to existing favourites with a real focus on freshness and quality. The past months have been really difficult for us all and the Team at Frankie & Benny’s hope to do their bit in lifting all of our customers spirits just a little bit in our own special way.”

They have taken all our favourite classics, and made them vegan. Tempt your tastebuds with mouthwatering Italian plantballs smothered in a spicy tomato sauce, and topped with vegan mozzarella. Bite into a towering juicy beet burger or a tangy vegan pizza… or indulge in our gooey vegan red velvet dessert.

Our favs in particular include:

Pepperoni Bake

Vegan Pepperoni Pizza

And we have to say that the Tower Beet Burger 12.20  is one of the best vegan burgers we have ever had – it is delicious!!

Guests will notice a number of measures in place to ensure their and Frankie & Benny’s team’s safety. These include clear social distancing guidelines and signage, enhanced cleaning practices, mandatory health screening for team members and increased hygiene practices. The menus are single use, and we will be encouraging guests to use contactless order and payment.

And we are delighted to confirm the contamination control measures in the Frankie & Benny’s kitchen for vegan items:

  • We have a vegan fryer, a vegetarian fryer and a meat+fish fryer
  • We use a clean tray when using the salamander grill, so a veggie or vegan dish will not be contaminated with the previous dish when browning cheese or vegan cheese etc
  • Our burger buns are all vegan, so no contamination when toasting
  • Our hotwells & coldwells are set up so that meat is stored at the front, then dairy, and vegan at the back, to reduce contamination when transferring to a plate
  • We use different colour scoops for vegan and dairy ice-cream

VeggieVision TV says; “Vegan desserts, perhaps the best vegan burger I have ever had from a non vegan restaurant – and a huge effort into avoiding cross contamination ….. book me a weekly table! This has made my eating out a lot more delicious!”
