Nothing beats a good laugh – its healthy, fun and makes us feel great! When I had the pleasure of introducing the comedy at last years London Veg Fest I got to see how funny these guys are off and on stage. Even more crazy was the fact that they laughed at my jokes too. At one point I even looked over my shoulder as I thought they must have been laughing at something else however they were laughing at what I was saying. And in a good way.
Be prepared for standing room only at UK Vegan Comedy Festival in Brighton this year….. you will cry your make up off and have a thoroughly joyess time.
Many people can think of vegans as being uptight and over-serious about morals and ethics. However as this year’s UK Vegan Comedy Festival will demonstrate, a lot of vegans can actually take a light-hearted approach to the issues close to their heart.
Taking place on the weekend of March 28th 29th 2015 at the Brighton Centre, the UK Vegan Comedy Festival is the first of its kind in the country and forms part of the huge vegan event VegfestUK with 10,000 visitors expected over the whole weekend. The comedy festival consists of the best vegan comedians under one roof who will properly take the mickey out of themselves and everyone around (including vegans obviously), and push everyone’s laughter to the limit with their cutting-edge humour, some of which is derived from their grapples with the vegan lifestyle.
Confirmed guests include Sara Pascoe (BBC1’s “Never Mind the Buzzcocks”), Carl Donnelly (BBC1’s “Stand up for the Week”), Joey Brannigan (“Poetry Unplugged” and “Farrago”), Harriet Kemsley (BBC3’s Comedy Lounge), Alasdair Beckett-King (winner of “New Acts of the Year Show”), plus over a dozen of other up-and-coming artists.
The VegfestUK organisers added, “It’s fantastic for us to be hosting the UK’s 1st ever vegan comedy festival at one of the nations’ largest and liveliest comedy hubs which is Brighton. Since introducing comedy hours to our shows in 2012, they have been very well received with full houses at nearly every performance.
