With the popularity (or necessity) of online shopping and in particular food boxes that are delivered straight to your door, we at VV TV bring you a round up of some of our favourites. There are some fantastic smaller / independent/ vegan businesses that make our lives a little more easy and tasty – and right now lets give them our support!
OMG – we were really impressed with how fresh every was in the box and no plastic too! Yay! A super selection of fruits and veggies and would love to buy again. The only thing is is that we are organic fans here at VV TV so hoping they will launch an organic OddBox soon.
ODDBOX work closely with farmers across the UK (& from abroad) to rescue fresh, seasonal surplus produce at risk of becoming food waste. To date ODDBOX have rescued over 5 million kgs of fruit and veg from going to waste with their delivery box scheme.
What’s inside an ODDBOX?
Inside the boxes are a mix of fresh seasonal British staples and other seasonal produce ranging from imperfect and surplus produce to out of specs and trial varieties, as well as a selection of international produce that has been imported but then graded in the UK. There may be a few surprises in there too – if ODDBOX can rescue it, they will!
In a large box you’ll get 9 varieties of seasonal and local veg and 4 types of fruit, which is ideal for a family of 4 or 5. ODDBOX also provide a sheet detailing the reason each of your items have been rescued, e.g. surplus, markings etc. Veg only and fruit only boxes are also available, in sizes small, medium and large.

We always find just the right amount of toppings – they do not scrimp like other pizzas. Run by super Mike and Joe we hear that they have something rather special lined up for Christmas – do check them out!

Squeaky BeanWhat a super bumper box packed with new kids on the block Squeaky Bean. We loved everything that was packed in the box. Some gorgeous choccy treats from Mummy Meagz – that didn’t last long! And vegan pancakes too! OMG!
You can now receive vegan food delivery boxes from Squeaky Bean direct to your door, thanks to a new home delivery initiative from Foodchain – an app which usually supplies restaurants. Products featured in The Squeaky Bean Plant Based Box include recently launched vegan sandwich slices from Squeaky Bean, as well as other meat replacements such as plant-based shawarma kebab and fishless fingers, non-dairy milk, ready-to-eat vegan pancakes, vegan chocolate bars and kimchi.
The Squeaky Bean Plant Based Box can be ordered directly from Foodchain’s app and delivered to homes – helping consumers to minimise trips to the supermarket during lockdown, and providing access to vegan items which are in high demand, with millions reducing their intake of meat and dairy products since the Covid-19 crisis hit Britain.
