Kirly-Sue (aka Susanne Kirlew) is helping to change the image of vegan food, so if you think being vegan is all about boring, bland tofu and buck wheat, Kirly-Sue has some wonderful recipes you will LOVE.
Born and raised in London to Jamaican parents, Kirly-Sue has been a vegetarian (no meat and no fish) for over 25 years.
Her British/Jamaican heritage is reflected in her cooking and baking.
Kirly-Sue has a theatrical background, she won her first job at the age of seven, when she appeared on the TV series, Play Pen. Following this auspicious start; Kirly-Sue enrolled at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, Barbara Speake’s Stage School and most recently,the Actor’s Centre (London).
She has won the London Youth Federation Awards twice(1992 & 2004) for her work within the community and she also won a Go UK award for Leadership in 1996 for her work within The Seventh-day Adventist Church which she attends regularly.
Though England is Kirly-Sue’s home, she has also lived in Jamaica, Thailand and Crete. But her travels do not end there! Kirly-Sue has visited 36 other countries, including Nicaragua, Guatemala, Denmark, Norway and the US Virgin Islands.
Kirly-Sue formerly ran a puppet choir (since 1995) called The Animated Gospel Choir in her spare which was featured on the first season of the TV show Britain’s Got Talent. Susanne also enjoys trying new and creative vegetarian recipes and is an experienced television presenter with a diverse range, which means she is in constant demand for live television, promo and corporate host work.
She made her professional presenting debut in 2001 on BVTV Sky Digital, which enabled her to interview many celebrities and politicians including Diane Abbott MP, Gillian Joseph (BBC) and Juliet Foster (Sky News). As the main presenter for Events TV, Susanne interviewed many more celebrities including Ken Livingstone (Mayor of London) and millionaire entrepreneur Alexander Amosu (R&B Ring tones).
On location in Jamaica, Kirly-Sue was the presenter & co producer for Shop, Eat, Visit (theholiday programme) and she has also done a series of voiceovers for various commercials. Kirly-Sue has also been the co-presenter of Ben TV’s Breakfast Show shown on The Bright Entertainment Network for Sky Digital
