Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen makes Bath even more worthwhile as a weekend break and if you are not too far away from Bath anyway then how lucky are you!?
Owner and chef Richard Buckley and his super manager Rob are passionate about fine food and for life long vegetarian Richard this doesn’t need to include meat.
Richard has always wanted to be a chef and own his own restaurant he has been developing Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen for the past year. The menu is streamline with a choice of 4 starters and 5 mains – which we really liked.
We love trying all sorts of vegan friendly foods and Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen is quite different as they “cook with vegetables” rather than vegetarian cooking.
The ingredients are locally sourced, mainly organic and clean. You won’t find mock meat burgers and pasta here – what you will find is fine dining, a super setting and menu options that you will not find anywhere else!
We just loved what we tried – such rich flavours and stunning colours too.
The menu does change so our options may not be available when you visit – however we know that there will be something as equally as stunning and delicious instead….
We enjoyed several of the vegan options …..
SPRING HERB STEAMED BEETROOT – with blackcurrant sorbet, red beet purée and dukkah
CARROT & CASHEW PATE – with spelt toast, seasonal leaves and herbs, ginger gastrique and tamari cashews
SMOKED FIELD MUSHROOM – glazed in rich mushroom demi-glace with mustard and chervil dumplings, salt baked celeriac purée and market greens
PURPLE SPROUTING BROCCOLI – with wild garlic, a romesco sauce, chickpea fritters and an orange rosemary emulsion
And of course it would be rude not make room for a desert – and the very rich and chocolaty:
CHOCOLATE TART with raspberry sorbet and crushed pistachios
SAFFRON POACHED PEAR with pinenut parfait and a sultana granola were both delicious!
A 3 course meal for 2 with a few drinks and sides is going to cost around £80 + however you can check out their early specials and lunch time deals too if you would like the Acorn experience on a lower budget.
